Diwali, is the festival of lights. It is the time when millions of Hindus, Sikhs and Jains across the world celebrate with beautiful rituals such as festive lights, fireworks, sweet delicacies and family gatherings. Diwali or Deepavali is celebrated as the day when Shri Rama, his wife, Goddess Sita and brother Lakshmana return to their home in Ayodhya after 14 years of exile. It is said that all villagers lit up the entire kingdom with strings of diyas to welcome Shri Rama who had defeated the demon king Ravana.
