Hi, I got in touch with 1specialplace for my 10 year old son who was stuttering with a lot of repetitions while speaking. It was affecting his confidence and fluency. We were lucky to get connected to Ms Hima Nair who's an excellent listener and therapist. She's extremely polite, patient and puts you at ease instantly. My son takes a little time to open up to people but once he did, he was very comfortable talking to her and started enjoying his sessions. Along with the regular practice, Ms Hima tried to make the therapy as interesting for him as possible by including games and other fun things. Within a month, there was a noticeable difference and in another couple of months, he was much better. We've finished with our sessions and there's no stuttering now. My son liked these sessions so much that he was disappointed that they had to end. My son has an issue with language formation, speech was never an issue with him.He would love singing movie songs and advertisement jingles but social communication was lacking.We took him to various therapists but their approach failed to bring out the optimal result. My therapist is Dr. Hima Nair, who is been training me in recognising and producing few sounds such as “dh”, “th”, “t”, “d”, “r”, “ha”, “zh”. I have been taking therapy for the past two months and Dr. Hima Nair is been very efficient in training me with the best methodologies and techniques. It’s been a very smooth and easy learning process and have been progressing faster that expected. I would like to forward my feedback on speech therapy for my son as he was having some issues regarding clarity of speech. So far he has taken seven sessions including assessment under Miss Hima Nair. I found that her assessment of the issue was correct and the mode of training was very effective where I could observe visible improvement in his speech. My son being active was the skill of Miss Hima Nair that she could handle him well and generate interest in the sessions by mixing the contents of the course to keep him attentive and encourage him to practice after the sessions. It was informative to us that there were so many techniques in correcting speech at a young age. From our observation we could find the teacher knowledgeable in her field and could get along with my child well due to her pleasing and friendly nature. The training seems to be technical result oriented and effective in a systematic way. She could adapt well as per situations to keep the child interested rather than following a rigid pattern of class which helped my son. We appreciate and acknowledge the effort of Miss Hima Nair and your special place for this well planned and successful mode.

I have taken approximately 4 sessions of speech therapy from Ms. Hima Nair. She has been extremely supportive and caring with my speech issues. We have practised several techniques like prolongation and pause and talk methods in sessions which have been very helpful. She even mentors me on how to deal with the lack of confidence which comes with any form of speech disability. Her approach towards treating me has been very positive. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs any sort of help in speech fluency.

Our seven year old son has had an issue of delayed speech for which we had been seeking professional advice and interventions from various institutions for the last three years. However, due to lack of customised interventions his sentence construction was poor despite his sharp intellect. We have been interacting and taking speech therapy sessions from Hima for last one month. To start with, I can tell that it has been a wonderful learning experience for us. As my daughter is 2.5 years, too small to attend to a therapy session of her own, my wife is in turn taking the classes from hima to learn various techniques so to stimulate the speech of my daughter. I myself have attended all the sessions. Hima is very patient and very methodical in resolving all our queries. Her advice has actually gave a remarkable result on my daughter's word utterances. Hi 1special team, I'd like to share a review of my therapy experience with Miss Hima Nair so far. I started the classes couple of months back to overcome the frontal lisp. Hima has been guiding me to get rid of my lisp with a very easy and one step at a time approach. To my surprise, I have been able to make a significant progress. I am able to pronounce most of the s sounds in individual words. We are working on eliminating the lisp while reading paragraphs and in general speech. I am quite sure I will be able to achieve that too with Hima's help. She has been providing me with constant feedback, even during the days we didn't have any classes. I appreciate her dedication towards helping me speak clearer.

We are based outside India and our son is struggling with a multilingual setup in and outside our home. He is speech delayed and we have been taking support in speech therapy in the local language setup. I have been taking sessions with Hima from almost 2 months now. The time when i started, I used to stutter a lot facing difficulties like maintaining the speed, fluency of speech, secondary behaviours like clenching the jaw, eyes shutting tight etc . But now after 2 months my stammering is reduced very much due to the techniques which were guided and taught my Hima, some of them include - Prolongation, start-stop technique, finger counting , metronome technique and reading slow. Her therapy was very effective for me and the way she handled with patience is something to be really appreciated of. After every session she used to effeciently take follow up of the practices and always used to send a Report for what all was covered in the session. There were some instances where the session could not be conducted or attended due some problem which was handled smoothly by her and replacement sessions or compensation of the lost time was done. Also she takes group sessions with other therapist or people who stammer. My therapy period is almost about the end with her once she will relieve me from the stammering thepary after checking my progress. Past few days my confidence level and speech rate was improved a lot and I hope it will be much better once i finish my course with 1specialplace.

Hi Iam Shreya Ammalajeri I have been taking speech therapy Since June. 10. 2021. Twice a week. And my speech therapist doctor is Hima Nair. She is a very good doctor that she made my speech better by speech techniques with breathing exercises. If I get any difficulties in speech which I couldn't explain properly then she gives the advice to use a technique for this difficulty which is very helpful. Really, Now I can speak better than before I join this. This 1specialplace played a very excellent role in my life which made me overcome stuttering, anxiety, and public fear.
