The goal of Sai Ganesh Foundation’s vocational section in Kundrathur is to help all of its students become financially independent. Young individuals with autism, Down syndrome, and intellectual disabilities have been receiving life skills instruction at this Foundation-run vocational training center. Under the direction of ten dedicated staff members and with oversight from Lt Cdr P, it currently houses 24 young adults. Devi, a parent of an 18-year-old special adult, is a retired Indian Navy officer. The initiative offers free sessions to people who cannot afford the minimal fee for training.

According to data from the Election Commission of India (ECI), more than 95% of PwD in the high disability category who registered to vote at home cast ballots in their district during this state assembly election.

This proportion is higher than the district’s and the state’s average voter turnout. According to ECI data, the average voter turnout in Pune district was 61.62%, while overall Maharashtra it was 66%.
ECI claims that the response is also a result of the unique step it took to give PwDs with disabilities of at least 40% the right to vote from home.
