Individualised Education Plans ( IEP)
These plans are developed for each student with a disability and outline their unique needs, goals, and accommodation. IEPs are created through a collaborative process involving the student, their parents or guardians, and other professionals. They are reviewed and updated regularly to ensure that the student’s needs are being met and that they are making progress towards their goals.
Qualified Teachers
1SP special educators are highly qualified, certified and experienced in helping students of all ages in meeting their academic needs. They provide critical help in areas of Reading, Writing, Arithmetic and facilitate overall academic success. 1SP educators receive the latest training in the industry and are supervised for quality outcomes of their intervention. Our teachers are trained in neuro-diversity affirming practices and conduct.
Collaboration
Regular communication with parents and caregivers can help ensure that everyone is working together to support the student’s academic and social-emotional growth. By working together, educators and families can create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with disabilities.
Progress Monitoring
Ongoing assessment and progress monitoring are essential components of effective special education programs. These processes involve regularly measuring a student’s progress towards their academic and social-emotional goals, and making adjustments to instruction and support as needed. This can include formal assessments, such as standardized tests, as well as informal assessments, such as observations and check-ins.
What to do first?

Talk to us. If your child has special needs, that can make it challenging for him/her to learn and succeed in school. We will guide you if your child could benefit from an evaluation or should be seen by a specialist (like a speech therapist or psychologist).

First evaluation. If your child needs extra help to reach his milestones, he will need an evaluation to understand his needs. 1SpecialPlace professionals will use standardised tests to find a child's strengths and challenges.

If your child is under-age 5, you will need an early intervention program to assist with overall development. This includes various childhood skills like cognition, language, motor, speech, hearing, communication, socio-emotional etc.

If your child is older and struggling in school, he/she will benefit from Remedial support focussing on specific academic challenges like reading, writing, arithmetic etc.

Evaluation depends on your concerns and the needs of your child. Tests can check for language skills, motor skills, development, behaviour problems, and achievement.

Toddlers & Preschoolers
Toddlers and Preschoolers are enrolled in the early intervention programs. It focusses on support and help in learning to walk, talk, play, and develop other skills. Families and caregivers learn how to help kids reach their goals and may get support managing problem behaviours or other concerns.
School-Age Kids
Depending on the need, students from kindergarten age through age 21 may need an IEP ( Individualised Education Plan). With careful planning and patience, and working together with the educator, you can help your child learn and reach their full potential.
