1,500 special kids compete in state competitions
The Punjab Education Department’s state competitions for kids with “special” needs came to an end today at Guru Nanak Stadium. Over 1,500 special kids from all during the state participated in games including football, badminton, athletics, and volleyball over the course of the two-day event, which promoted the idea of “sports for all.”
Host Ludhiana won the majority of the competition’s titles and was declared the overall winner, while Jalandhar and Fatehgarh Sahib placed second and third, respectively.
The main guests at the award ceremony were Amandeep Kaur, Assistant Director, DGSE, and Swatantar Kaur, Assistant State Project Director (ASPD). The winners of the positions received the rewards.

In light of NEP 2020, managing inclusive classrooms
The term “inclusive education” refers to a method of teaching in which children with special needs are completely integrated into regular classrooms with classmates their own age. Maintaining human rights, sustainable development, and peace and security depend on disability inclusion. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development places a strong emphasis on leaving no one behind. India ratified the 2030 agenda for sustainable development in 2015. By 2030, “provide accessible and equitable quality education and encourage lifelong learning opportunities for all,” according to Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG). The Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPWD) Act 2016 and NEP 2020 are in compliance.
Inclusive education refers to educational practice wherein special kids are fully included in the mainstream classroom with same-age peers.

AMC’s special school for kids with disabilities

Two children from a Howrah home supported by Lapierre will compete for India in the Special Olympics
Priyanka and Rani’s parents were in despair when they were infants, but thanks to funding from French novelist Dominique Lapierre, a special needs children’s home in West Bengal’s Howrah enabled them to join the Indian handball team that will compete in the 2023 Berlin Special Olympics.
